Public Service Announcement

There's a very helpful link on the Love God's Way site that identifies bands whose music is gay...I assume listening to them encourages gayness and should be avoided...there is also a link to a page containing safe bands that do not encourage gayness, but I avoided looking at it because I'm way gay and thankfully past all hope...

however, Love God's Way also has an organization called C.H.O.P.S. (Changing Homosexuals into Ordinary People) that has an interesting logo if nothing else...

and I guess based on that list, I was right about my exposure to the Village People at that concert when I was a kid....the Grateful Dead are on the list which also says a lot...Boy George has a star, which I bet he would appreciate...all in all, just more information than should be legal because thinking about all this stuff only stirs up the gayness that the music might have missed...

Keep an eye on your radio dial folks or your ipod screen or whatever's appropriate

this is hard

CAS wants to know 6 weird things about me...I'm pretty damn normal so this is tricky...

1. I will only eat sandwiches sliced diagonally because that's the way the Lone Ranger ate his
2. I change socks 2 or 3 times a day (at least) because if I change shoes, I have to have on fresh socks
3. I can identify lots and lots and lots of different plants and birds
4. My address book is filed by first names
5. I saw Leif Garrett and the Village People in concert
6. I have a phobia about using a phone after someone else has touched it, okay I have a huge germ phobia in general but the phone thing especially freaks me out

Great Paul Reubens Post

too many wonderful Pee Wee memories and not enough time...glad to see he's getting some love from gonzo on Weird Daily and that modern Hollywood history can be re-written based on the six degrees of Reubens

there has to be a mistake

I had to have a root canal yesterday and my current dentist apparently doesn't believe in ether...nor did the dentist I used in Atlanta...

what's up with that folks???

the one thing that makes the thought of dental work bearable (for me) is the promise of a good dose of laughing gas....without that, what's the point in having a drill in your mouth for over an hour?...yeah yeah, there's that medical need thing but really what's more important? a healthy tooth or ether buzz?

I think we know where I stand on this...

while pouting over the fact I had to go through the procedure without my favorite dental crutch...I discovered some interesting information...here's just a few gems...

Dr. Crawford Long used it for the first time in the 1840's (and a bonus pointless trivia factoid - he's was a Georgia boy)...when mixed with ethanol, it became a popular social drink for women during prohibition (sounds yummy) and ticks can be removed from the skin when anesthetized with a few drops....

but mostly I'm amused by the fact that there is an Ether Monument in Boston (unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a gift shop or tshirt)

milk and bread milk and bread

that's what we stock up on to get ready for a winter storm in the Deep South...we buy milk and bread...just in case there is a blizzard of history making proportions and we risk having to go all Donner Party and stuff...now I've lost my train of thought

oh yeah the storm...we may get some freezing rain and ice early tomorrow morning...kinda one of those times that it can go either way...just cold enough to make things a mess and shut the City down or not quite cold enough to be anything more than miserable, cold and rainy...I'm guessing the latter...however, I do take comfort knowing that City leaders (even though we don't actually live in the City) held an emergency planning meeting and are ready for the worst...hell, Homeland Security was there so it must be serious...

stay tuned, we'll see if I regret not buying bread and milk beer...

Photo Hunt - Technology

dryer

in our neighborhood, you can often find technology gone bad or past its prime on the street...and typically a man in a truck (with less than a mouthful of teeth) not too far behind to pick them up and take them where expired appliances go...

to my coworkers this morning

who feel compelled to congregate in front of my desk and chat

1. please stop talking about football
2. please stop talking about the correct way to put on stockings
3. please stop talking about the intricacies of moisturizing your skin

E - none of this applies to you, of course

moving on

the end

this is the last page of a sketchbook I finished yesterday...I've had a brand-new, blank replacement tucked away for a few weeks now, knowing this day would come...I like to be prepared

I should add
Repent

at the top and
Is Near
at the bottom...

that's got a catchy ring to it

we are company free and as a result, I had time to play yesterday afternoon....first drawings of 2007....

J says the bald guy looks like every guy I find attractive (and there are SO many)...I can't help it if my (lesbian) ideal of a man looks like Vin Diesel...is that so wrong????
