Phone Phase
phones drive me crazy in reality, but the old ones are kinda interesting...my dad worked for Ma Bell for a long time....when we were young kids, he did a stint as a lineman...drove the boxy Bell van, had the climbing spikes and everything....
one of the coolest thing on his toolbelt was his test set....great for playing Star Trek, Star Wars and Rat Bastards btw
we always seemed to have some odd phone around too, like a Mickey or Snoopy...they were push button thugh and something awful happened to Snoopy's head, causing it to be caved in on one side...tragic, but the phone was still functional so it lasted years that way....
it's kinda amzing that corded phones are not the norm anymore....too bad in some ways, because those heavy duty ones from the 40's and 50's weighed a ton and were fun to take apart...also an effective weapon when thrown or launched...
and you can't talk about vintage phones without mention the Pink Princess...they were dreamy
anyway, more vintage phone info and pictures here...
